Here are a few conditions and suggestions when creating a Sales Navigator search URL for your campaigns (If you are getting started, please refer to these guidelines to create hyper-targeted search URLs within your target industry).

πŸ‘‰πŸ» The URL characters count should be no more than 7K.

The character limit accepted by the search URL field is 7K maximum. (You can use this online tool to count characters)

If the URL is longer, the client may use the Saved search URL instead, and the bot should be able to run it normally. Please, note that you have to use the connection filter (open the Saved Search URL with the relevant user > add connection level 2nd/3rd+ Degree Connection and Group Members > and save).

πŸ‘‰πŸ» The SN search URL should be only created from the SN profile of the user assigned to the campaign.

Since not all Sales Navigator profiles have the same UI version, search URLs might work on one profile but not on the other. A search URL copied from different profiles might prevent the campaign from running normally, and an error would show in the app in such a case.

Corrupted filters due to copying search URLs from one profile to another.

However, you can use a different user to create a URL as long as the URL:

  • is not a saved search

  • is not using saved account lists

  • it is not too long or complex (requiring a saved search)

β€‹πŸ‘‰πŸ» The complexity booleans suggested being no more than 10.

To avoid Linkedin performance issues while running the search URLs, we always recommend our clients not to use more than 10 complexity booleans [True or False conditions].

Sales Navigator behavior when it’s unable to handle complicated Search URLs due to using too many Booleans.

πŸ‘‰πŸ» The number of lists used per search URL is suggested to be 1 list maximum [Account lists, Lead lists, excluded saved lists, etc..]

Too many lists (account lists, Lead lists, excluded saved lists, etc.) would be a load on Linkedin while running the search URL, so we suggest that our clients not include more than one list in their search parameters.

Pick one list (account, lead, or saved leads) for your search URL OR merge them to a new one if you have multiple lists.
